Season 26 Episode 1 - Why I Started This
Share
I'm not doing this because I have it figured out. I'm doing this because I don't, and I'm tired of pretending I do.
For a while now, I've been living most of my waking hours inside a job that drains something out of me I don't know how to name. Not just tired — smaller. Like I'm shrinking to fit a space that was never built for the parts of me that actually want to grow.
I used to think that was just what adulthood was. Show up, get through it, collect the paycheck, repeat. But somewhere along the way I stopped believing that was enough for me. I don't want my life to be something I'm surviving. I want it to be something I'm building.
So this is me taking that back. Not in some dramatic, quit-my-job-tomorrow way — I'm not there yet, and maybe I won't be for a while. But in the way that actually matters first: deciding that I get to have a say in who I become. That I'm not just going to let a job, or a routine, or fear decide that for me.
This is going to be a place where I document that — the real version, not the highlight reel. The days I take a real step forward and the days I don't. The stuff I'm learning about myself, the tools that are actually helping, the moments I want to give up on the whole idea. I'm not interested in performing growth. I'm interested in actually growing, in public, where it's a little harder to quit on myself.
If you're in a version of what I'm in — stuck somewhere that doesn't feel like yours, wanting something more but not sure how to start — I'm hoping this is a place you feel less alone. Not because I have answers. Because I don't, and I think that's exactly the conversation worth having.
Here's to taking it back, one honest post at a time.
